Our History 

Kidds & Co. is a family-owned and operated business that opened its doors in March of 2008. Director Christine Hare has 40 years of combined experience in early childhood development. Christine, her husband, and parents are the owners of our child day care center.

 

 

Our Philosophy

Our child day care center bases its practices on the Reggio Emilia style of teaching. This teaching style is centered on respect and responsibility. We encourage intentional teaching and a strong sense of community. Our programs focus on problem solving, social and emotional development, and developmentally appropriate early learning skills. Kidds & Co. provides these methods through our emergent curriculum.

 

 

Our Staff

Staffing at our child day care center begins with an initial interview with Christine. Applicants answer a range of questions that help us to determine if they will be a good fit for our philosophy of children and families. We do not require a certain degree, but we do hire people with experience in child day care centers. Staff must then pass a background check. Finally, all of our faculty must have CPR and First Aid certifications and have injectable training. Kidds & Co. also has a nurse that oversees all medical records, all physicals and immunizations, and ensures that we are adhering to all Connecticut state requirements.
